Editing Fun while at Work

Shazia, the instructional specialist, has given me the task of typing some REALLY old (talking 60s or 70s here) information sheets about punctuation.

I just found a sentence which shows the age of this writing rather nicely:

One of the examples of the semicolon states: He needed butter, for his ham and eggs; jam, for his toast; and his wife, for entertainment while he had breakfast.

I can't wait to see what other gems crop up from the time of non-pc. :D

Ha ha, I doubt I ever use semicolons correctly, I just like throwing them around because you just don't see that sort of punctuation enough.
